Late night sushi dinner!
The parking lot has very limited parking spaces and it shares the lot with a couple other restaurants.... It was quite late, around 10pm or so, so it took us around 8 minutes to find a parking spot.

This is the Late Night specials menu. I find it like any other plain old sushi/Japanese restaurant menu. Since I didn't want to eat too much that late at night, I ordered only a california roll (#3.25) and a chopped scallop roll ($3.25).

My friend ordered salmon sashimi:
Matsuyama- salmon sashimi |
I get to try one piece, and it was huge... I had to take 3 separate big bites. It wasn't overly mushy, which is nice. It's like eating the flesh of a tomato- soft but slightly firm.
Including tips I've paid $8. Quite pricey for just 12 tiny pieces of sushi, but it was enough for a small meal. They weren't the BEST sushi, but they aren't bad either.
Ambiance: (3.5/5) The general interior looks very nice except for the colorful streamer that seems like its been left there from a New Year's party.
Food: (4/5) The sushi and salmon sashimi were decent.
Service: (4/5) Service is at a decent pace, I didn't wait too long for the food, but I think I waited longer to be seated than my food to arrive.
Value: (3.5/5) I've been to other places that serve sushi at similar quality, but cheaper. I guess the value comes from the quality of the ingredients, but I wasn't very "omg this is very good!" about the sushi.
OVERALL: The price is a very big turn off; since I'd paid $8 for a few tiny pieces of sushi, I'd expect it to be very good. I'll come here if I really crave for a late-night sushi run, but I don't think I'll come here on a regular basis.
