[REVIEW] Joe Fortes Seafood and Chop House- Dine Out 2013

For this year's Dine Out I went to Joe Fortes. The Dine out menu costs $38.

When I first entered the restaurant, it gives off a rustic traditional-restaurant vibe;the lights are very dim but it's not a candlelight dinner, unfortunately it was hard to take pictures and I didn't want to use flash and disturb other customers.
Overall, I really like the ambiance. Big thumbs up (^.^)b

Service is excellent. The waiter(s) was really friendly, and was helpful on making recommendations. They also allow online reservation here if you don't feel like making a call.

I also really like how they have heaters at the entrance, it was really cold when we were making our way to the restaurant. (I took public transportation)

I went in a group of 4, we were seated after waiting a little less than 10 minutes.

I really like the rustic look of the menu

Dine Out 2013 @ Joe Fortes

After we ordered our food, they gave us some bread and some really tasty vinaigrette. It was sweet and tangy, kinda have a Japanese cuisine taste to it.

Appetizers:
New England Clam Chowder

Jumbo Prawn Cocktail- classic cocktail sauce, fresh horseradish
I ordered a Ceasar salad, but I forgot to take a picture >< (I'm sure you all know how a Ceasar salad looks like ^^)

Entree:
New York Steak- garlic mashed potatoes
Everyone ordered the New York Steak (typical boys) except me.
The ravioli was AMAZING!
Sauteed Prawns and Scallops- artichoke ravioli

Desserts:
By the time I got dessert I was already stuffed from ravioli and bread....Hey! I can't help it, the vinaigrette is delish!
Tahitian Vanilla Creme Brulee- cinnamon biscotti
The creme brulee is. to. die. for @__@
It's so creamy! And the little ball of gelato has the consistency of hand-whipped whipping cream. The down side is that I find it too sweet. I think it's the caramel crust on top was too much, but I also understand that that's what a creme brulee is.

Chocolate Lava Cake- vanilla gelato
I had a very hard time deciding whether to get the chocolate lava cake or the creme brulee, but our waiter suggested the creme brulee :)

Food: 5/5

  • Delicious!
  • very hearty and flavorful

Service: 5/5

  • very friendly :)

Value: 4.5/5

  • 0.5 off because it is on the pricier side, but it's definitely worth it if you don't mind the price

Ambiance: 5/5

  • I love the rustic vibe

Overall: 4.5/5
*I will definitely visit again! But maybe for a special occasion.

    1. You must go try it! It may be on the moderate- expensive side (at least to me), but you'll be full and go into food coma!;)
